Having installing and subsequently removed Vista as a dual boot with XP, I have been left with ongoing boot error reports when loading XP; 'winloader.exe' missing.
This has been a commonly reported problem seen around many support groups, and the solutions in general not for the faint hearted.
VistaBootPRO 2.0 allowed this error to be quickly fixed by simply allowing the removal of the remaining unwanted Vista bootloader.
Why can not Microsoft make software this simply !!! (for free!)
